Hilary Damissah to lead country’s historic participation at CABSAT in Dubai

Veteran Nigerian media professional and public affairs strategist, Hilary Damissah, has reached another remarkable milestone as he prepares to coordinate Nigeria’s first official participation at CABSAT, the leading global event for broadcast, satellite, and digital media technology. The historic engagement, held in partnership with the Dubai World Trade Centre, marks a major leap in Nigeria’s media presence on the international stage.

CABSAT, hosted annually in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is the foremost media technology expo for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region. It attracts thousands of industry professionals, innovators, and decision-makers from around the world. Nigeria’s participation — coordinated by Damissah — is expected to strengthen the country’s visibility and collaborations in global media, content delivery, and broadcast innovation.

Damissah has consistently championed excellence in journalism, media production, and public communications. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer and Editor of DigiVation Network, a media platform broadcast on Africa Independent Television (AIT) that focuses on IT, innovation, lifestyle, and business. He is also the founding editor of Cyber Africa News and served as associate producer for Infotech Network on AIT.

Damissah’s leadership extends across numerous flagship initiatives including the DigiVation Future Summit and Awards, Nigeria Mobile Economy Summit and Awards (NIMES), Nigerian Digital Innovation Conference (NDIC), and the Cyber Nigeria Forum (CNF). His cross-border efforts include the Ghana/Nigeria Tourism and Culture Showcase (GHANIGTCUS), the first privately-organised bilateral arts and cultural forum in West Africa.

Damissah started as Library Assistant at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where his passion for journalism blossomed. He later served as Editor-in-Chief of The Megaphone News Agency and as President of the Student Sports Writers Association, covering major events like NUGA ’98 and the FIFA U-20 World Cup Nigeria ’99.

This new international role positions Hilary Damissah not just as a national media leader, but as a global ambassador for Nigerian creativity, innovation, and professionalism in media. His appointment is a proud moment for Nigeria’s media sector — and a call for greater investment in local talents with global reach.
