Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi widely referred to as Portable, has unveiled a new look following his release from incarceration. He was arrested in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, on Saturday, April 12, over allegations of criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, and character assassination against Fuji musician Saheed Osupa.
His arrest followed a petition filed by Fuji legend Akorede Babatunde Okunola known by the stage names Saheed Osupa or King Saheed Osupa (K.S.O.) who accused him of using abusive and insulting language that could incite violence and damage his reputation.
The Zazuu hitmaker was granted bail in the sum of N1 million, after a court ruling on Monday, April 14, that he provide two sureties in like sum, one of which must be the chairman or secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN). The other must also possess landed property within a government reserved area, backed by a valid certificate of occupancy (C of O).
Portable was remanded in the Oke Kura Correctional Centre Ilorin due his inability to meet the bail conditions.
However, following his release upon fulfillment of the bail conditions, the I’m Not a Prisoner crooner flaunted his new look in a series of posts via his Instastory.
In the video, the Zeh Nation head honcho appeared to have shaved off his signature colourful haircut. He also apologised to Osupa, saying: “God bless you sir. I’m sorry”. Earlier, Osupa’s management in a statement disclosed that the lawsuit against Portable was dropped following the intervention of prominent Nigerians.
Meanwhile, Portable in a new video shared online, issued a stern warning to social media users, threatening to arrest anyone who defames him, either verbally or in comment sections. The ‘wahala wahala’ proponent warned Nigerians against making defamatory statements about him. He stressed that he would not hesitate to involve the police in arresting anyone found guilty of tarnishing his image, particularly in social media comment sections.
The singer’s latest outburst highlights his ongoing battle with online critics and reinforces his zero-tolerance stance on cyberbullying and defamation.
