Embrace healthy lifestyle, not pills to boost sex drive, Anaxon boss, Victor advises

A naturopath and Chief Executive Officer of Anaxon Wellness, Dr. Oye Victor has urged a holistic approach to maintaining a healthy sex life, cautioning against addiction to performance-enhancing drugs.

Victor’s advice stems from growing concerns on the prevalence of sex drive pills, especially among the youth demographic, citing health implications of prolong use.

This is even as the federal agency, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control(NAFDAC), has also from time to time sounded a note of warning on the health risks posed by sex pills, many of which are said to be from unrecognisable sources.

Victor in an interview, recently, blamed popularity of these drugs amongst the youth on peer influence, noting further that most libido issues arise from unhealthy lifestyle.

“Most young men and women are into alcohol and smoke all sorts, causing low libido that affects their sexual activities. Of priority is leading a healthy lifestyle which translates to general body goodness, including sex life. Diet, exercise and catching enough rest should not be traded for anything lesser”,he said.

The reproductive health expert also implored those with low libido issues to address underlying cause factor, assuring of effective solutions.

“If the root cause is being addressed, no one will be in need of it. If at all a sex pill is needed,it should be for the elders, not the youth,” he advised.

He also addressed regulatory lapses fuelling the spread of sex enhancement drugs, especially unproven herbal products, citing exorbitant registration fee.

“It’s important NAFDAC reduces registration fees and streamline processes for herbal manufacturers, considering many practitioners face financial constraints. This could pave the way for regulated and accessible natural remedies”, he said.
