Funmi Babington-Ashaye (FBA) Foundation has inducted 16 young ladies into its Cohort4 mentorship programme geared towards preparing them for a better future.
The President of the Mentoring Programme, Yetunde Faulkner, revealed this during the review of the nine-month programme in Lagos.
She encouraged the mentees to make the best use of the opportunity.
The guest speaker and Chief Executive Officer of Pricewise Service Nigeria Limited, Kofo Awonuga, also called on the mentees to consider the opportunity priceless and take full advantage of the gesture.
Awonuga, who also shared her life experiences with the mentees, told them what she had done, failed to do, and what she would have liked to do.
“It is unbelievable how time flies. For women to reach their maximum potential, they must be ready to embrace change,” she added.
She took the mentees through what she tagged ‘PIVOT’, which stands for planning, introspection, vision, opportunities and act.
According to her, the mentees need to adequately set their plans, be intentional about the plans, and pursue them aggressively.
On introspection, she charged them to look inward, harness their potential and trade them effectively.
Kofo Awonuga told them to set a vision of what they want to achieve and ask necessary questions on matters that are important to them, stating that questions should be asked until they get what they desire.
She told them to keep their eyes open to opportunities and ensure that they accomplish every good goal they set for themselves.
She called for positive mindsets over situations, adding that strong faith is also necessary to overcome uncertainties.
The Pricewise Service Nigeria Limited boss urged the mentees not to be inactive, charging them to take advantage of available support systems, saying people are defined by their support systems.
While charging them to avoid living in isolation, she said living in isolation can lead to depression.
