Kano State Governor, Abba Kabiru Yusuf, has approved over ₦15 billion for the outstanding severance allowance and gratuity for councillors elected on the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The councillors served under the immediate past Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for eight years.

Kano State Commissioner for Information, Abdullahi Waiya, at the end of the Executive Council meeting, said the governor’s gesture underscores the culture of politics without bitterness being ensued by the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) administration in Kano.

The state government also accused the Ganduje administration of receiving bailout funds from the former President Muhammadu Buhari government, but failed to settle the liabilities of indigent workers, further aggravating widespread poverty in the state.
