With his relatable content and infectious energy, Nigerian award-winning comedian, Iyiola Olaoluwa Christopher well known by the stage name Cris Da Lecturer is once again set to leave a lasting impression on his international audience, as he thrill audiences in America, Canada, and Europe with his highly anticipated comedy special show, “I Miss Home”.
Born in Ibadan, Oyo State, he began his entertainment career in the church drama department, and then progressed into comedy and master of ceremony for events. He hosted his first comedy show in 2012 and was consistent till 2018. He became an international MC/Comedian in 2023, hosting sold out events in the United Kingdom, Europe, and other African countries.
The show which won the Alternative Event of the Year in 2018 at the Blingz Events Awards promises to bring laughter and joy to fans across the globe, showcasing Cris Da Lecturer’s unique brand of humour and storytelling. The comedian in 2024 won the Outstanding Personality at the MCF Award in Scotland.
Speaking on his inspiration, the humour merchant said, “I live the feeling I get when I become the reason people laugh genuinely. I write jokes for other comedians as well.
“I’m organising this special comedy with a tour of the United States, United Kingdom and other European countries starting with the UK because the UK community is designed for work. People hardly have time to relax because of bills.”
Asked why he opted for comedy against other genre of arts/entertainment, Cris Da Lecturer said, “I chose comedy because comedy chose me; even when I don’t want to be funny, people will just laugh.”
“I am creating an avenue where people forget about work and just focus on having fun, have a good laugh, good music, network with other Africans. This show is also aimed at bringing out the beauty of Africa.
“Even though we mostly believe that the western counties are better off, there are many other ways Nigeria and other Africa nations are better. I am creating contents that will make us to be proud of where we came from, celebrate our heritage. The show will also go on tour to the US, Canada and other European nations,” he added
