Dorcas Sanni Ojelabi, fondly called Alagatosoji MC DSO has been crowned the 2025 EMTV’s Legend Entrepreneur of the Year. The award came on heels of her sterling qualities as a wedding compere.
In the award, courtesy of EMTV World Entertainment, which is in three categories, the mass communication graduate from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, was among the 33 contestants who were selected by EMTV to be awarded via online voting, where she emerged winner in her career sector.
Alagatosoji, a freelance journalist, was known for her series of inspirational articles before venturing into the entertainment industry, where she has gained giant and remarkable strides in the Yoruba traditional wedding as a result of her dynamic methods and eloquence.
Headed by Emmanuel Olayinka Salako, who is the Chief Executive Officer, with head office in Osogbo and branches in other Southwest states, EMTV World Entertainment, which started in 2019, was established to promote beauty and talent to stardom.
This year’s participants were selected from Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo states. The colourful event, held at the NUJ hall, Osogbo, Osun State, was graced by dignitaries and notable individuals like Oluwaseun Akanji, publisher of the book Career Choosing Guide, also Adediwura Oladimeji of Timsed Broadcasting station.
The grand chairman, Mr. Martins Ogunkunbi, who disclosed that the gathering was not just to present an award but to recognise a lifetime of dedication, passion and excellence, said “a legend is not born overnight; it takes years of perseverance, tireless commitment and an unwavering spirit.
“We celebrate a journey marked by excellence, resilience and a legacy that will live on. This honour is reserved for those whose impact transcends time. A true legend not only achieves greatness but also inspires generations to dream bigger, push harder, and believe more deeply. This award is a symbol, but the real honour is the legacy that has been built- a legacy that will continue to motivate future generations. Always remember that good works require more work to keep the flag flying.”
In her speech, the award recipient, who expressed happiness for the award, thanked her supportive husband, her boss, HRM, Oba Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa and fans who voted in her favour, said her emergence came as a surprise, because “I don’t know the organisers and I was skeptical that they would be impartial.”
