An advocacy group, Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN) has reiterated its commitment to speaking for the voiceless and the vulnerable in society.
The group also called on individuals or lawyers, claiming that they represent the association in ongoing cases to desist.
The co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of the group, Comrade Ebenezer Omejalile while speaking with newsmen urged the public not to patronise any ‘dubious person or lawyer’ that wants to use the association’s name to exploit the vulnerable for vain glory.
The convener declared that Olaniyan Onoriode Clementina is the only ACVPN Legal Adviser/Representative in all its cases across Nigeria, adding that any other person(s) claiming to represent ACVPN in any of its matters should be disregarded by members of the public because such persons are impostors.
He noted that ACVPN is noted for equity, fairness and justice and since inception has been at the forefront of fighting against any form of injustice.
Omejalile said the group collaborates with both state actors and non-state actors, including agencies of both federal and state governments.
According to him, ACVPN’s objective is to ensure the true cause of justice in its quest to get justice for vulnerable persons across Nigeria.
He noted that the group has various pending cases it handled for the voiceless in Magistrates and High Courts across the states in Nigeria.
The convener further noted that some unscrupulous elements want to tarnish the name of the association to extort and claim they represent the group in the ongoing trial at the Lagos State Sexual and Domestic Special Offences Court, Ikeja, involving one Douglas Omosakpae as the defendant.
He therefore admonished the public to report any injustice perpetrated by any individual or association claiming to be a member of ACVPN.
