Limi Children’s Hospital gathers experts for neonatal symposium

Over 300 healthcare professionals from across Nigeria converged in Abuja for the 4th edition of the Abuja Perinatal Symposium, hosted by The Limi Children’s Hospital, a flagship paediatric facility under the Limi Hospital Group.

The event, held in the Federal Capital Territory, underscored the hospital’s commitment to improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes. Attendees included neonatologists, paediatricians, nurses, and allied health workers, all gathering to explore innovations and best practices in perinatal care.

A highlight of the symposium was its simulation-based training sessions, which allowed participants to gain hands-on experience using neonatal mannequins donated by healthcare partners. The practical sessions also featured expert-led modules on neonatal resuscitation, equipping attendees with vital skills to manage emergencies effectively.

Speaking at the event, Dr Peter Igoche, Lead Consultant Paediatrician at The Limi Children’s Hospital, described the symposium as part of the hospital’s broader mission to promote continuous medical education and clinical excellence.

“At The Limi Children’s Hospital, we are not only focused on care delivery—we’re investing in the future of healthcare through training, innovation, and collaboration,” he said.

The symposium featured a mix of keynote lectures, workshops, and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, further cementing the hospital’s reputation as a leading hub for paediatric and neonatal training in Nigeria.

As healthcare challenges evolve, The Limi Children’s Hospital reaffirmed its openness to strategic partnerships, professional referrals, and joint initiatives aimed at improving maternal and child health across the country.

The hospital expressed its gratitude to all participating institutions, facilitators, and partners for contributing to what it described as one of the most impactful gatherings in its ongoing efforts to strengthen neonatal and maternal care nationwide.
