The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has appointed Comrade Michael Oyewole of the University of Jos as the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the NANS President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was officially conveyed in a letter signed by the NANS President, citing Oyewole’s demonstrated competence, loyalty and exceptional communication skills.
“As Chief Press Secretary, your core responsibilities shall include serving as the official spokesperson of the Office of the President, drafting and issuing press releases, official statements and media briefings, coordinating media relations and ensuring positive visibility of NANS activities nationwide, managing communication channels and supporting the promotion of NANS programs, policies, and initiatives as well as advising the President on strategic public communication and media engagement,” the letter read.
The NANS leadership described Oyewole’s appointment as a reflection of his outstanding track record in media engagement, student advocacy, and commitment to the values of the association at the University of Jos.
The statement emphasised that the appointment will remain valid throughout the tenure of the current administration, subject to performance, discipline and dedication to service.
