Police grant man who climbed mast in Abuja bail

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Thursday released a man who climbed a mast in Abuja, Alhaji Yushau Shuaibu on bail to his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.

The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed Shuaibu’s release in a statement on Friday.

“Shuaibu who was arrested for climbing the Aso Radio mast was referred to the FCTA SDS for a mental assessment, which found him mentally stable,” Adeh wrote on X.

However, according to the police spokesperson, symptoms of anxiety, persistent worry, and fears were noted during his profiling.

Adeh said the SDS thereafter recommended that Shuaibu receive further psycho-social care and support, which contributed to the decision to release him on bail.
