Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has commended Hon. Kabiru Amadu, the member representing Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency, for his ongoing commitment to community empowerment and grassroots development.
Speaking during a ceremony at Government House, Gusau, where the lawmaker distributed about 100 vehicles and tractors to his constituents, Governor Lawal praised Amadu—popularly known as Mai Palace—for his dedication to improving the welfare of the people.
The Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, noted that the event formed part of a broader initiative by the lawmaker to deliver tangible benefits to the constituency. In April, Amadu had distributed over 100 motorcycles to local residents, particularly targeting young people to ease daily mobility.
Governor Lawal highlighted the importance of such efforts in complementing government programmes aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public services across the state.
“I am deeply impressed by the array of initiatives that Hon. Kabiru Amadu is implementing for the benefit of his constituents,” the Governor said. “While the state government continues to work on the construction and renovation of schools, hospitals and roads, welfare-oriented initiatives like these are essential to our overall development agenda. This is exactly what Hon. Mai Palace is doing.”
Lawal reiterated that his administration remains committed to its Rescue Mission agenda, particularly in areas such as security, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, and urban renewal. He assured Amadu of continued collaboration and support.
Hon. Amadu, addressing the gathering, stated that his empowerment scheme also includes educational interventions such as scholarships and payment of school fees for students from the constituency.
“Last month, I distributed over 100 motorcycles to selected individuals, particularly the youth, to ease their daily movement.
“In addition to the cars being distributed today, we are also supporting farmers with tractors and agricultural tools as part of our efforts to boost food production and enhance livelihoods,” he said.
The empowerment programme has drawn attention as one of the most extensive of its kind in Zamfara, with calls for similar interventions across other constituencies in the state.
