Google has boosted the features of its products with a new range of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to enhance its operations.
Enhanced products include Search, Gmail and Meet. The tech giant revealed the updates during Google I/O 2025, its yearly developer conference in California.
The company said the enhancements are part of a broader effort to make its AI models more “intelligent, personalised and agentic.”
Google is also feeding its latest AI model, Gemini 2.5, into its search algorithms and will soon begin testing other AI features, such as the ability to automatically buy concert tickets and conduct searches through live video feeds.
Google’s Chief Executive Officer, Sundar Pichai, described the latest AI advancements as a major milestone.
“More intelligence is available… And the world is responding, adopting Al faster than ever before,” he said.He said decades of AI research are finally becoming practical tools for people, businesses, and communities worldwide.
Further, among the major updates is Gemini 2.5, which Google described as its most advanced model yet, adding that the product would soon be available in Pro and Flash formats.
According to Google, the Pro version will introduce Deep Think, an advanced reasoning mode, designed to handle complex math and coding challenges.
Google explained that for Search, it is rolling out AI Mode to all users in the United States, offering summaries of results and assistance with
tasks like planning and shopping.
“Users can now try on items using their photos and complete purchases through an “agentic checkout” system,” it stated. In Gmail, the organisation said users would now see personalised smart replies, while Meet will offer real-time speech translation.
The search giant also introduced new generative media tools, including Imagen 4 and Veo 3, for creating images and videos, with native audio generation.
Other updates include improvements to the Gemini app, which now supports Deep Research, Canvas, and camera and screen-sharing features on Android and iOS.
Google also unveiled Beam and Flow, two new AI experiences, alongside a premium subscription tier that offers exclusive access to its most powerful AI models and features.
The expansion builds upon a transformation that Google began a year ago with the introduction of conversational summaries called “AI overviews” that have been increasingly appearing at the top of its results page and eclipsing its traditional rankings of web links.
