Lekki Estate Residents and Stakeholders Association (LERSA), Agbon Traditional Council, and others have paid tributes to the matriarch of the Emadoye family, Mama Ewudjakpor Esther Emadoye, who passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 98.
During her funeral in Ethiope East Local Council of Delta State, admirers and sympathisers eulogised the nonagenarian for her motherly love, discipline, and devoutness.
The deceased was the mother of the immediate past president of LERSA and the Urhukpe of Agbon Kingdom, Olorogun James Emadoye. He is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BSSL Technologies Ltd. and a member of the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON), among other affiliations.
President of LERSA, Chief Sulyman Bello, expressed the association’s sympathies and solidarity with its immediate past president on the loss of his beloved mother. Bello pledged that LERSA would continue to stand by Emadoye, offering support and prayers as he navigates this period of grief.
“The association prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and urged the family to take solace in her legacy and cherished memories,” Bello said.
Secretary of the Agbon Traditional Council, Chief Emma Avworo, described the late Emadoye as a caring mother who was dutiful to all and deeply committed to community development.
“We shall miss her sweet and gentle comportment and generosity. We urge you to please accept our heartfelt condolences and sympathy over the demise of Mama. Agbon Traditional Council prays that God embraces you and the entire family with the strength and fortitude to bear her irreplaceable loss,” he said.
President of ISPON, Bimbo Abioye, also paid tribute, describing Mama Emadoye as family-oriented and widely loved. He acknowledged her significant contributions to family and community life, noting that she would be greatly missed.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to you and the entire family. Rest assured that you are in the thoughts and prayers of ISPON,” he said.
In his remarks, Olorogun Emadoye said that even though his mother lived a long life, her passing was unexpected. He described her as strong-willed, dedicated, selfless, and a committed mother and wife who brought light to the entire family.
The late Mama Emadoye was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church and a devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was a pillar of the Christian Women Organisation (CWO) and a member of both the Sacred Heart of Jesus Society and St Anne’s Society.
