Uche Nwosu gifts Immigration officer N1m for showing integrity

Prince Orji Ugochukwu, an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, has been celebrated for his pivotal role in the arrest of Levi Onyeka Obu — a man known by aliases such as Ezeani, Ichie Billion, and “E Dey Play, E Dey Show.”

Obu, previously known for his ostentatious lifestyle, is now in custody as a suspected kidnapper and ritualist alleged to be the mastermind behind one of southeastern Nigeria’s most feared criminal networks.

During the course of the arrest, Prince Ugochukwu stunned many by rejecting a staggering ₦10 million bribe offered by the suspect in an attempt to evade justice.

Instead, the officer chose to follow due process, handing over Obu to the authorities — an act that has since captured the attention and respect of the nation.

In recognition of this exceptional demonstration of patriotism and moral courage, Chief Uche Nwosu, President of the Ugwumba Leadership Center, has presented a ₦1 million reward to Officer Ugochukwu.

“Prince Ugochukwu did not just refuse a bribe,” Chief Nwosu said during the award ceremony. “He refused to betray Nigeria. In a country where money often dictates decisions, he chose honour. This is precisely the kind of leadership the Ugwumba Leadership Center promotes, and we are proud to support him.”

Nwosu used the occasion to issue a broader call to action, urging public servants across Nigeria, especially those in the security sector, to draw inspiration from Ugochukwu’s example.

“If one officer can resist ₦10 million, others can too,” he stated. “Our borders, streets, and institutions can be safe again if courageous men and women rise to do what is right.

“Let this be the beginning of a renewed national culture — one where integrity is honoured, and patriotism is rewarded. Nigeria must return to the values that once made her great.”
