ADC to launch state integration of coalition partners

National Executive Council (NEC) and National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have ratified plans to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and deepen coalition integration ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

To achieve this, the party’s National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu, in a statement yesterday, announced a state-wide convergence of coalition partners under the ADC platform. He said the programme would be held across the 36 states of the federation this month.

According to Nwosu, the initiative, set to take place in each state capital, was approved by the NEC and endorsed by the NWC. He said the convergence would bring together political parties, civil society groups, labour unions and other patriots with a consistent interest in joining forces with the ADC’s coalition structure.

“This initiative is more than a political event; it is a deliberate grassroots movement.”

The idea is to take the vision, mission and rescue agenda of the ADC and its partners to the people, where it truly belongs. It is no longer a project centred in Abuja. The time has come for Nigerians to own this mission.”

Describing the convergence as “a gathering of equals”, Nwosu said it reflected the founding spirit of the ADC-led coalition, which he stressed was not a top-down arrangement.

“Every member, from the national to the ward level, must now be fully attuned to the tradition that the ADC is co-owned by the coalition. This is a shared journey.”

He also revealed that the programme would introduce a new paradigm, focused on resource development and mobilisation from the grassroots up, supported by a bottom-up communication framework to ensure the ADC’s message resonates across Nigeria.
