THISDAY Newspaper journalist, Rebecca Ejifoma of the Features Desk, has been nominated for the 2018 Nordica Media Merit Awards.
The winners will be unveiled at the Endo Gala Night of Fun and Fund-Raising Dinner scheduled for Saturday 14 April 2018 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Nordica Media Merit Awards (NMMA), established in 2015 by Nordica Fertility Centre, annually recognize outstanding journalism in fertility-related writing and reporting in Nigeria.
The awards aim to promote fertility awareness, encourage high-quality reporting on reproductive health, and highlight advances in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).
Winners are selected in print, electronic, and digital categories, each receiving cash prizes at a dedicated ceremony.
The initiative is part of Nordica Fertility Centre’s mission to support family building and set standards comparable to international best practices.
The NMMA jury includes top media professionals, such as editors from leading Nigerian newspapers. And this year, Ejifoma was nominated for her feature “Who is Afraid of Family Planning?” published in THISDAY Newspaper.
Dr. Abayomi Ajayi, Managing Director of Nordica Fertility Centre, emphasized that rewarding quality fertility reporting helps raise public awareness of reproductive health issues in Nigeria.
