Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has been named in the 2024–25 Belgian Pro League Team of the Season, following a remarkable campaign with KRC Genk that saw him clinch both the Golden Boot and the Ebony Shoe Award.
The 24-year-old forward secured top honours after scoring 21 goals across all competitions, cementing his status as one of the league’s standout performers. Arokodare’s recognition comes as part of a carefully selected Best XI, unveiled on Wednesday by the league’s governing body.
His inclusion in the elite lineup reflects his consistent performances and attacking prowess, as he finished as the Pro League’s top scorer. The Golden Boot race saw Arokodare edge past STVV’s Adriano Bertaccini, thanks to his superior tally of away goals—11 in the regular season and two more in the playoffs.
In addition to his domestic success, Arokodare made an impact on the international stage, scoring in a recent friendly against Russia to help Nigeria maintain its unbeaten run under coach Eric Chelle.
The forward was one of two Genk players included in the Team of the Season, with his teammate Zakaria El Ouahdi earning a spot at right-back. Club Brugge dominated the selection with five players, while league champions Union Saint-Gilloise had two representatives.
Arokodare’s stellar performances throughout the campaign have placed him on the radar of top European clubs, fueling speculation about his next move. His breakout season has positioned him as one of Nigeria’s most exciting attacking prospects, with fans eagerly watching what lies ahead.
