Lagos-based singer and songwriter, Abdul Rahman Yusuf, popularly known as Harcher, officially launched his debut extended play (EP), The Great Arrival, on Sunday, 15 June 2025. The release was followed by a lively listening party held at Xtacy Premium Night Club in Ikeja, Lagos.
The seven-track project, released under Bullion Records, marks the artist’s formal entry into Nigeria’s mainstream music scene and blends Afrobeats, soul, and contemporary influences to explore themes of hustle, joy, and identity.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Harcher described The Great Arrival as a deeply personal body of work.
“This project means everything to me. It’s not just music—it’s a reflection of my life, struggles, and dreams,” he said.
The EP, available across major digital streaming platforms including Boomplay, Apple Music, Spotify, Audiomack and YouTube Music, features six official tracks and one bonus collaboration. Production credits include Dr. Syk, Aris, Yeba, Levels Beats and Shocker, with a guest appearance by Adewale Spice.
The launch party attracted an enthusiastic crowd of fans, music industry executives, influencers, and media figures. Attendees were treated to live performances of the full EP, complete with dancers, lighting effects, and the premiere of the music video for Jo Si (Dance To It).
Notably, the event also featured a short documentary that offered behind-the-scenes insight into the making of the EP, including the challenges faced by the artist and production team.
Harcher expressed appreciation for the support received: “Seeing people vibing and dancing to my songs was humbling. It means a lot that people connect with the music. This is just the beginning.”
Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, Chairman and CEO of Bullion Records, was present at the launch and commended Harcher’s creativity and work ethic.
“Harcher represents a new generation of Nigerian artists pushing creative boundaries. The Great Arrival is proof that we’re nurturing talent with global potential,” he said.
Under Ajadi’s leadership, Bullion Records has focused on spotlighting homegrown artists and supporting original, exportable sound.
The premiere of Jo Si (Dance To It) drew particular attention, with the video already gaining traction on television stations such as MTV Base, Trace Naija, Soundcity, and HipTV.
Harcher, who cites Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Wizkid, and 2Baba among his musical influences, first gained attention during a Boomplay live session in May. Since then, he has been dubbed by fans as “The King of Vibez and Energy”—a title his growing fanbase appears eager to affirm.
Following the EP’s rollout, Bullion Records has hinted at a series of follow-up projects, including music videos, regional tours, and live showcases intended to build Harcher’s presence across West Africa and beyond.
