FG to begin evacuation of Nigerians in Israel, Iran

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, has stated that efforts are underway to commence the emergency evacuation of Nigerians in Israel and Iran in the wake of ongoing tension between the two countries.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the minister appealed to all affected Nigerian citizens to strictly adhere to necessary security protocols and contact

the nearest Nigerian foreign mission for registration and further instructions.
Tuggar commended the efforts of Nigeria’s diplomatic missions in Tel Aviv and Tehran for their dedication and commitment in becoming their brothers’ keeper during the trying period.

The minister stressed that the Nigerian government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safe evacuation of its citizens and is closely working with relevant international partners and local authorities to ensure proper coordination for the timely and secure evacuation of Nigerians in affected areas.

“The government remains committed to the safety and welfare of all its citizens, both at home and abroad, ” Tuggar said.

The ministry called for a cessation of hostilities in the conflict, now in its seventh day, as part of efforts to promote peace between both nations.
