Film marketer, Kazim Adeoti, has said he was attracted to his wife, actress Mercy Aigbe, because of her honesty and professionalism.

He made this known during a recent interview with Oyinmomo, where he recalled how their relationship started on a film set in 2011.

According to him, “What I really admire about her is her honesty and straightforwardness; it’s something I truly respect. I remember in 2011 when she starred in a film titled Hajia Jemila. After I paid her, I was already used to people complaining that the fee was too small. But in her case, she actually came back to tell me there was leftover money. I was genuinely shocked.”

He added, “At the time, many people advised me to only work closely with men if I wanted to succeed in the industry. But I decided to give her a chance, and she completely changed my perspective. She’s not only a woman but a beautiful one at that and still, she acted with so much integrity. Honestly, I never collected that remaining money from her, and we continued working together from there.”

Adekaz said that simple act of integrity marked the beginning of a long-term working relationship, which eventually turned romantic.

He officially married Mercy Aigbe in 2022, even though he already had a wife, Funsho Adeoti.
The marriage generated mixed reactions online, but the couple insisted they had no regrets.

Mercy, who also runs a fashion business called Mag Divas, had in an earlier interview explained why she married Kazim. “One of the reasons I married him is that we’re both in the same industry. He understands what I do, and we are building an empire together,” she said.

Since their marriage, they have collaborated on several film projects, including the 2023 box office success, Ada Omo Daddy, produced by Mercy and distributed by Adekaz Productions.

The actress has also maintained that she was financially stable before their marriage and their relationship is based on love, not dependency.

In 2025, Mercy Aigbe won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for her role in Farmer’s Bride.
