Coalition demands justice for victims of mass killings, extra-judicial executions

The National Coalition Against Mass Killings, Extra-Judicial Killings, Mob Actions and Impunity (NCAMKI) has called for urgent justice for victims of mass killings and extra-judicial executions across Nigeria, holding both state and non-state actors accountable for years of violence and impunity.

In a statement titled “Never Forgotten, Never Forgiven – Until Justice is Served,” the coalition vowed to document every incident, honour the memory of victims, and press for the prosecution of perpetrators.

“From the charred ruins of Odi to the blood-soaked sanctuary of Owo, Nigeria’s soil is stained by the blood of innocent citizens—slain by both those sworn to protect and those who kill with impunity,” the statement read.

NCAMKI highlighted major incidents of mass killings, including the Odi and Zaki Biam massacres, the killing of Shiite members in Zaria, the #EndSARS shooting at Lekki Toll Gate, the Owo church attack, and recent killings in Yelwata and Kurfi.

The coalition revealed it is compiling an archive of killings involving security agents, terrorists, and mobs. “This archive will support court cases, media advocacy, and public awareness,” the group stated.

NCAMKI also called on families of victims, human rights lawyers, journalists, and civil society organisations to collaborate in the fight for justice. “We will expose every killer. Demand every trial. Remember every victim,” the coalition pledged.
