Abuja educators conference 2025 champions digital literacy in education

The 2025 edition of the Abuja Educators Conference, held at Baze University, successfully brought together educators, policymakers, and thought leaders under the theme “Chalk to Clicks: Igniting Transformative Education through Digital Literacy.”

Hosted by CEBAR Consultancy and Training Limited, the conference highlighted the urgent need to embed digital competence across all levels of education. In her welcome address, Miss Carol Barlow, CEO of CEBAR and an internationally respected educationalist stated: “Chalk to Clicks is more than just a catchy title. It’s a reflection of the reality we’re living through—a world where technology is not just an add-on, but a core part of how we teach, how we learn, and how we live.”

The conference was graced by the attendance and support of high-level representatives from key government institutions, including the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, represented by Engr. Dr Patrick Oghuma, the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Olatunji Alausa, represented by Dr Claris Ujam, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education, Professor Paulinus Chijioke Okwelle, and the Director-General and CEO of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, represented by Dr Usman Abdullahi Gambo.

In his keynote address, Senator Yusuf D. Baba-Ahmed, founder of Baze University, reminded delegates that “Digital literacy is no longer an option. It is essential for economic survival.”

Participants engaged in practical sessions, panel discussions, and exhibitions that explored the future of education in Nigeria. The event reaffirmed the role of strong partnerships and capacity building in preparing educators and learners for a rapidly changing world.
