Rivers APC condoles Buhari’s family, describes him as revered leader

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State Chapter, has extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari and the government and people of Katsina State over his demise.

The State APC Chairman, Tony Okocha, in a statement on Monday, described Buhari as a revered leader and elder statesman.

Okocha said, “Former President Muhammadu Buhari was not just a man, he was an institution. A towering figure in Nigeria’s political and military history, he exemplified patriotism, discipline, integrity, and unwavering commitment to national service. His leadership, spanning decades, left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s democratic journey and institutional governance.

“From his days as a military Head of State to his historic return as a democratically elected President, President Buhari remained a symbol of resilience and national rebirth. Under his stewardship, Nigeria witnessed bold efforts in anti-corruption, infrastructural renewal, and agricultural reform. His legacy will continue to shape the political and developmental landscape of our dear country for generations to come,” said Okocha.

According to Okocha, the Rivers State Chapter of the APC acknowledged Buhari’s pivotal role in the formation and success of the All Progressives Congress, a party he helped build with vision and uncommon fortitude, adding that his principled stance, spartan lifestyle, and focus on national unity remain a guiding compass for all of us in leadership today.

The party prayed for his wife, Aisha Buhari, his children, and the larger family for God to comfort, strengthen them, and grant them peace.

The party further asked God to forgive his shortcomings and accept his good deeds, and grant him eternal rest.
