Governor Diko Rada of Katsina State is seeking answers on how the African Democratic Congress (ADC) intends to address the multifaceted problem of insecurity in the state if it is eventually voted into office.
Former Minister of Sports and spokesperson for the ADC, Bolaji Abdulahi, made this revelation in a post shared on his X account on Thursday,
The former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts assured that the ADC has its plans to end terrorism and banditry in Kastina State mapped out.
Abdulahi added that the ADC will address insecurity differently if voted into office, unlike the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), which, according to him, failed woefully in its fight against insecurity in the country.
”Governor Diko Rada of Katsina wants to know what the coalition will do differently. Good question!
”To start with, we will end banditry in his state, a task that the APC government has long given up on,” Abdulahi wrote on X.
Recently, the Katsina State Government disclosed that some communities in the state are already taking to self-help by negotiating with bandits for their safety and freedom.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Bala Zango, stated that the remaining unrepentant terrorists operate within the fringes of the border areas of the state and the forests.
He noted further that, due to the agrarian nature of Katsina residents, some communities were negotiating with the bandits to enable them to continue their farming activities.
According to the commissioner, while the state government maintains a position of no negotiations with bandits, it is willing to reintegrate and rehabilitate any bandit who embraces peace.
