Ex-Liberian president, Weah, visits Abuja, signs Buhari’s condolence register

Former Liberian President George M. Weah has paid tribute to the late former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as “a great friend of Liberia and a pillar of stability in the region.”

Weah, who visited Nigeria within the week, signed the official Register of Condolence in Abuja and briefly addressed journalists, saying he had come to “pay homage” to a leader he credited with supporting Liberia’s peaceful democratic transition and regional security efforts.

“President Buhari was a statesman whose leadership transcended borders,” Weah told reporters. “We are here to honour a man whose legacy will continue to inspire generations.”

Weah also joined other dignitaries to attend the birthday ceremony of socialite Seyi Adekunle, better known as Seyi Vodi, in the nation’s capital, where he lauded the contributions of the private sector in job and wealth creation, economic integration, and regional harmony.

Earlier, he had been received by the Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs upon arrival in Nigeria.

The media coverage of the high-profile gathering was coordinated by Abuja-based PR strategist, AlexReports, and was widely reported.
