My administration paid N25.6b gratuity to retirees in six years – Inuwa

Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has announced that his administration has paid gratuities worth N25.6 billion to retirees in the state.

The governor stated this on Tuesday during the presentation of cheques worth N2 billion in gratuities to local government retirees at the Government House, Gombe.

He said the payment was made as a result of his government’s disciplined financial management and commitment to workers’ welfare.

According to him, the payment includes N2.06 billion disbursed on Tuesday, bringing the total amount paid since 2019 to N25.626 billion.

Inuwa said this achievement demonstrates the administration’s commitment to accountability and the well-being of its workers.

Governor Yahaya reiterated his administration’s commitment to achieving zero gratuity liability by 2027 through sustained quarterly payments and innovative public financial management strategies.

He also commended the dedication of the retirees and charged those still in service to demonstrate integrity and diligence in their work.
