Foundation partners firm to train 500 teachers in Ogun

Sparkle Foundation in collaboration with Alpha Global, recently trained 500 primary school teachers from across Remo Zone, Ogun State, during its transformative Teachers’ Training Conference, held at the Oba Akaripo Palace Hall in Shagamu. The event was sponsored by Bet9ja Foundation and Providus Bank. The programme was aimed at equipping educators with the mindset, strategies, and tools needed to navigate the evolving educational landscape.

The conference, with the theme: “Building Resilience and Reigniting Passion for Teaching,” addressed critical challenges faced by modern educators, including motivation, technological adaptation, and burnout.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sparkle Foundation, Mrs.Olasimbo Ojuroye, restated the foundation’s dedication to transforming education through teacher training and professional development. She emphasised that empowered educators were key to bridging the learning gap and ensuring effective and inclusive learning environments.

A representative of the Ogun State Commissioner of Education, Abayomi Adelaja Arigbabu, emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in education.

A speaker/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alpha Global, Mrs. Caroline Popoola, spoke on “Leveraging Technology for a More Engaging Teaching Experience.”

Drawing from Alpha Global’s 16 years of extensive experience in childcare solutions, she underscored the importance of integrating technology into teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Following her, Dr. Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, Chief Executive/Registrar of the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), delivered an inspiring talk on “Resilience in Education: Navigating Challenges and Embracing Opportunities.”

Her address equipped teachers with practical strategies to overcome obstacles and maintain their passion despite the profession’s demands. Additionally, Ms. Phinnah Ikeji, a renowned Parenting Educator/Consultant, enlightened attendees on “The Growth Mindset and Continuous Learning,” encouraging teachers to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and to foster a culture of lifelong learning within themselves and their students.

The programme focused on empowering teachers with the latest digital skills, enhancing educational quality through improved competencies in classroom management and curriculum development, promoting resilience and professional growth, and ultimately strengthening communities by transforming the lives of thousands of children in Ogun State.

This collaborative effort by Sparkle Foundation and Alpha Global marks a significant step towards a brighter future for education in Ogun State, ensuring that teachers are well-equipped to inspire and guide the next generation.
