Time to do exploits for the lord

The judgment of God is coming as the world is drawing close to the end. The harvest of souls is ripe; unfortunately, many are still on the fence. Those people on the valley of decision may be caught unprepared for the rapture of the saints that is at hand. While the harvest is ripe, the labourers are very few.

The Lord, therefore, is in need of people that will go into the world to preach the gospel to the perishing souls at the valley of decision. The disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ are duty-bound to search and recover the lost souls for God’s Kingdom.

The word “disciple” is translated from a Greek word, mathetos, meaning a learner, listener, someone willing to give some philosophy or teaching, a careful hearing. A learner grows to maturity and becomes a teacher. The disciples of Jesus Christ having learnt under His feet must be prepared to teach others to win souls for God’s Kingdom.

The Bible in Daniel 11:32-33a, says: “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. 33: And they that understand among the people shall instruct many.” The followers of our Lord Jesus Christ know His will and the purpose of His coming to the world. After three years of gospel teaching He went back to the father instructing the disciples to occupy till He comes. As His representatives on earth, we must be prepared to do exploit for Him by going all out to preach the gospel in season and out of season. The second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is at hand; nobody knows the day and the time. The only preparation is to be ready at all times doing the work assigned to us. There are sinners all over the world and there is every need to preach the gospel to them.

In 2Timothy 3:1-5 the Bible says: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. 3: Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. 4: Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. 5: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

The days are evil; a sign of coming to the end of this present world. There are evil people parading themselves in different religious and political portfolios leading the feeble mind into destruction. People are more interested in things of the world, which are likely to give them false, temporary pleasures or comfort than the things of God. They forget that whatever comes from God is durable and everlasting. It is the duty of the disciples of Jesus Christ to these people that have lost out in the things of God and bring them into the faith and, indeed, the family of God that is heaven bound.

Again in 2Corinthians 6:1-3, the Bible says: “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2: (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation). 3: Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed.”

As disciples of Jesus Christ and workers in the vineyard of God, our primary duty is to bring people to God’s kingdom and make them saints, as well as, help them in preparation of the second advent of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is written in Revelation 14:14-15: “And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. 15: And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”

The harvest is ripe. There is no better time than now that the world is manifesting the signs of coming to an end. There are evildoers everywhere, hence killing of human being is no longer news. Mass burial of innocent people murdered for no just cause is no longer terrifying, as it has become regular occurrence. Believers should arise now and embark on corporate prayers for the repentance of the people of this present world. They should go everywhere to ensure that no one is left behind in hearing the message of salvation. Our Lord Jesus Christ charged His disciples in Luke 5:4 thus: “Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ was very careful in choosing experienced and seasoned fishermen as His early Apostles and He charged them to launch into the deep. The present believers, preachers, church workers should launch into the deep in search of the perishing souls. There must never be a no-go-area in our outreach to win souls for God’s kingdom. It is a global project and all the nooks and crannies of the earth must be touched, especially now that rapture is around the corner. The early apostles were not hindered by fear of death orimprisonment, therefore, nothing should pose a hurdle to our reaching out to every part of the world in the course of evangelical mission. Heaven is giving us the necessary backing and at the end our reward will be great in Jesus’ name.
