Zion Oshiobugie makes history with first-Ever TEDxYouth event in Milton Keynes

In a major moment for the city of Milton Keynes, a TEDxYouth event will be held for the very first time since the city was founded over 50 years ago. The event, called TEDxMiltonKeynesYouth 2025, will take place on Tuesday, August 12 at MK Gallery a date that also marks International Youth Day.

The man behind this historic moment is Zion Oshiobugie, a youth mentor and education advocate known for his powerful life story and passion for change. Born in Nigeria, Zion once worked as a domestic servant just to afford school fees. Today, he leads global conversations about education, youth empowerment, and opportunity.

Zion is the founder of Clever Minds Educational Foundation, a charity organization in Nigeria that has provided free education, daily meals, and mentorship to hundreds of orphans and underprivileged children. So far, 169 children have graduated from the Clever Minds programme. In the UK, he runs Youth Visionaries CIC, a community group in Milton Keynes that helps young people aged 16 to 25 find work, build confidence, and stay mentally strong.

Zion also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Governor of Edo State in Nigeria. In that role, he supports education reform and youth programmes across the state. Though he is now based in the UK, this appointment sees him travel often between both countries to support young people on a global level.

This year’s TEDx event in Milton Keynes will explore the theme “Limitless Horizons.” It will feature talks from young leaders, creatives, and thinkers from across the UK who will speak on education, innovation, mental health, climate action, and identity. There will also be live music, spoken word, and creative sessions designed to spark new ideas and fresh conversations.

“This isn’t just a TEDx event,” Zion said. “It’s a chance to help young people dream bigger, speak louder, and lead the way forward.”

Talks from the event will be recorded and shared with TEDx audiences around the world, giving Milton Keynes a global voice in youth leadership and ideas worth spreading.

Zion’s story is a proof that a dream, no matter how small it starts, can grow into something powerful. And on August 12, that dream will shine from the heart of Milton Keynes for the world to see.
