Liang was apprehended on July 25, 2025, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos after arriving from Bangkok via Dubai with two suitcases containing 50 parcels of cannabis, specifically a strain known as Loud, weighing 26.10 kg.

NDLEA operatives, who had been tracking him, detained him upon his entry to the airport, the agency revealed in a statement.

Meanwhile, a joint operation at the Apapa seaport resulted in the seizure of 101 kg of Canadian Loud concealed in two buses in a container from Canada.

Further operations across the country led to the recovery of over 71,000 pills of various opioids from Usman Musa on the Abuja-Kaduna highway, 30.1 kg of skunk from Binta Usman in Maiduguri, and the destruction of 2,500 kg of skunk from a cannabis plantation in Ondo State, where three brothers were arrested.
