Ajagba, Sanchez free to negotiate IBF heavyweight title elimination purse

IBF heavyweight title hopefuls, Efe Ajagba and Frank Sanchez have been given the go-ahead to start negotiating the purse for their elimination fight slated to be held later this year, boxingtalk.com.

When Filip Hrgovic pulled out of the IBF heavyweight elimination process, the IBF ordered Ajagba, ranked third and fourth-ranked Sanchez to begin negotiations for an eliminator for the vacant number one position.

Derek Chisora sits at number two. Carl Moretti of Top Rank, representing Ajagba, confirmed that Ajagba would like to proceed straight to a purse bid, which is permitted under IBF rules.

The IBF initially scheduled a purse for yesterday, but that has now been pushed back one week until August 12.  Oleksandr Usyk owns all four major heavyweight titles, including the IBF version.
