Imo State Police Command, partnering with a non-governmental body, Ikemefuna Jewish Organisation, on Thursday, gifted a traffic warden, Inspector Uche Chidiebere, with a cash gift of N500,000 and a plaque in recognition of his exemplary conduct.
The Imo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Aboki Danjuma, represented the command, while Ikemefuna Chidiebere Mbelu, who represented the organisation, presented the cash gift to the beneficiary.
This was contained in a statement issued Friday morning by the command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
The statement stated that Chidiebere was assessed over time, and it was discovered that he exhibited dedication and professionalism in managing traffic and serving the public at his duty post at Warehouse Junction, Owerri, the capital city of the state.
Mbelu commended the beneficiary’s integrity and hard work, urging other traffic officers to emulate him to earn similar recognition.
On his part, CP Danjuma commended Chidiebere, describing him as displaying “exemplary conduct, discipline, and service to the public at all times, which reflects the ideals of the Nigeria Police.
“The command reaffirms its commitment to professionalism, rewarding excellence, and building strong community partnerships for safety. Officers are encouraged to emulate Inspector Chidiebere’s dedication, while the public is urged to continue supporting security agencies for a safer Imo State.”
Responding, Chidiebere expressed his excitement about the gift and plaque presented to him, thanking both the CP and the Ikemefuna Jewish Organisation for the gesture, and pledging to “remain committed to serving the public diligently and upholding the values of the Nigeria Police Force.”
The Imo State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps also attended the short event.
