‘The PAGE Initiative’ to reposition youths for community growth, national impact

Designed to reposition Nigerian youths as catalysts for community transformation and national development, the Senior Legislative Assistant to the Senate President and National Commander of Man O’ War Nigeria, Prince Adedamola Gbenga Emmanuel, has launched ‘The PAGE Initiative’.

The initiative, which was unveiled in Ogun State, is a groundbreaking grassroots movement anchored on four strategic pillars: Positioning people for growth, aligning values and structures, growing sustainable systems, and engaging every stakeholder with purpose forming the acronym PAGE.

Prince Emmanuel, who described the initiative as a bold, visionary roadmap to reignite purpose, restore order, and reposition Man O’ War and communities for lasting impact, noted that the four pillars are essential for creating resilient and inclusive communities.

He emphasised that the initiative was born out of the urgent need to rebuild Nigeria from the grassroots. “Nations are determined by what happens at the grassroots. This is not just another project; it is a corrective journey, one that begins where our true strength lies,” Prince Emmauel said.

He however, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, including ANC Innocent Okere, National Liaison Officer; MC Olakotan Kehinde, past Commander; and the volunteers of The PAGE Initiative. “This is a movement for purpose, growth, and relevance. The grassroots is our starting point, but the nation is our destination,” Prince Emmauel noted.

The Executive Director of the Initiative, Ajide Sola Joseph, elaborated on its objectives, stressing the importance of empowering youth, supporting the elderly, and revitalising local units challenged by limited resources, poor communication, and identity erosion.

He said: “The PAGE Initiative is our structured, results-driven response. The target is to deliver far-reaching community interventions, including: Leadership training, capacity building, strategic partnerships, advocacy and civic engagement programmes, as well as volunteer opportunities for youth. It also seeks to harness the creativity and energy of Nigerian youth while modernising grassroots structures for efficiency and relevance.”

Ogun State Commander of Man O’ War Nigeria, MC Adekunle Alimson, praised Prince Emmanuel for his dynamic leadership. “His resilience and visionary leadership, both as National Commander and PAGE Initiative founder, are truly commendable.”

Chaplain Dr. Adelusi Olusegun Joshua, who spoke on “Empowering the Next Generation: A Grassroots Responsibility” called for active citizen participation in nation-building. He said: “Government cannot do it all. The Carter Foundation is proof that foundations and NGOs can fill critical gaps for national development.”

As part of its launch activities, the PAGE Initiative made impactful donations: 94 full Man O’ War uniforms to Ogun State Command, 20 packs of sanitary pads (shared between Oyo and Ogun States, reaching 1,000 schoolgirls), 10 branded T-shirts, executive office chair to Oyo State Command, three dozen plastic chairs to Ogun State Command and awards to distinguished individuals for their service and support

These items were targeted at boosting operational capacity and addressing critical needs among adolescents in underserved communities. Also, to further cementing its commitment to grassroots empowerment, The PAGE Initiative also donated an office space to the Agbado Station Oke-Aro Itoki District (ASOID), Area Unit, under Ifo Area Command in Ogun State, to serve as a hub for ongoing community service and youth development programmes.
