Expert urges govt to regularly align SaaS, cybersecurity strategies to prevent breaches

Cybersecurity and SaaS solutions expert, Oladele Ologbonsaiye, has urged government agencies and private corporations to consistently align and update their SaaS platform strategies alongside cybersecurity measures to curb the growing wave of digital breaches.

Speaking with journalists over the weekend, Ologbonsaiye stressed that this alignment is essential in protecting mission-critical applications, safeguarding sensitive data, and ensuring uninterrupted business operations.

He advised organisations to not only update their security systems butalso too integrate SaaS adoption frameworks with cybersecurity best practices. This, he said, should include proactive vulnerability assessments, real-time monitoring, regular backups, and ongoing training for IT and security teams to ensure threats are addressed before they escalate.

“In today’s interconnected digital economy, the separation of SaaS adoption from cybersecurity is a costly mistake,” Ologbonsaiye warned. “The rapid evolution of cloud technologies and the sophistication of cyber threats demand that organisations rethink how they manage, protect, and optimise their platforms.”

Ologbonsaiye explained that strategic alliances between government regulators, enterprises, and cybersecurity experts are crucial for creating resilient and compliant digital ecosystems.

According to him, the government’s role should go beyond regulatory oversight to also fostering innovation in cybersecurity policy and SaaS adoption standards.

“Government agencies can establish compliance frameworks, businesses can enforce these policies in their operational systems, and experts like us can close the knowledge and capability gap,” he said. “This three-way collaboration will build enterprise resilience and mitigate the risks of large-scale breaches.”

Ologbonsaiye emphasised that as cyber-attacks become more targeted and sophisticated, organisations must shift from reactive to predictive models, integrating real-time intelligence with their operational workflows.

“The organisations that survive and thrive in this era will be the ones that treat SaaS and cybersecurity as interconnected engines of resilience and growth,” he concluded.
