Kano Bye-Election: Barau, minister, others rally support for APC candidate

Ahead of Saturday’s bye-election in Kano, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, joined hundreds of party supporters at Shannon Local Government Area to draw support for the All Progressives Candidate (APC), Ahmad Kadamu.

Also joined at the grand rally were the Minister of State for Housing, Hon. Abdullah Ata, and the member representing Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi.

The opposition party is fielding candidates to fill the vacant seats in the Shanno, Bagwai, and Ghari constituencies of the state assembly.

Speaking at the rally, APC State Chairman Prince Abdullahi Abbas reaffirmed the party’s readiness to reclaim the vacant seats. He insisted that any attempt to manipulate the election outcome would be met with resistance.

The chairman assured that APC will win the election, but called on security agencies to ensure that they guard against rigging and vote-buying.

On his part, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, reminded party loyalists that votes for Ahmad Kadamu would further consolidate the Federal Government’s presence in Kano.

The Senator representing Kano North reassured the electorate that a victory for Ahmad Kadamu on Saturday will further galvanise the APC’s victory in the governorship and presidential elections in 2027.

Rallying support for Kadamu, the member representing Bichi at the House of Representatives, Engr. Bichi expressed optimism for the APC victory on Saturday.

He said the Federal Government has done wonderfully well, which will give them easy wins in the bye-elections, hinting at the approval of N10 billion for the construction of Bichi, Bagwai/Sganono to Gwarzo, and the Federal Road to ease the movement of farm produce.
