2025 AfroBasket: D’Tigers beat Tunisia to secure back-to-back wins

The D’Tigers of Nigeria have secured its second consecutive win at the ongoing men’s 2025 AfroBasket championship in Angola, recording an impressive 87-66 victory over Tunisia.

The star of the match was none other than Josh Okogie who delivered a clutch performance for Nigeria, making an impressive 33pts to inspire the D’Tigers to another spectacular win.

Nigeria had a great start in their second match at the Afrobasket tournament in Angola on Friday, with the D’Tigers bagging a 13 point lead against Tunisia after the 1st quarter.

The D’Tigers showed great intent not to lose grip of the match, finishing the 1st quarter: Nigeria 29-16 Tunisia.

They did not look back in the 2nd quarter as they opened a big lead going into the locker room, leading Tunisia by 15 points at half time, 48-33.

The D’Tigers led by 20 points at some point, and although Tunisia tried to finish the quarter very strongly, Nigeria had a strong lead to go into the break.

Okogie who led with a game-high 19 points after two quarters brought his NBA quality to bear for the D’Tigers in this game, dropping 27 points after three quarters to help Nigeria go out to a very big lead over Tunisia, 68-47.

With the D’Tigers leading by 21 points after the 3rd quarter, the Nigerians never looked back in the final quarter as they secured their second group win, beating Tunisia 87-66.
