The city of New York played host last week to one of the largest Christian gatherings in its recent history as Nigerian preacher, Apostle Joshua Selman Nimmak, led the 2025 edition of his Sound of Revival conference.
The event, which ran from 14 to 17 August, attracted thousands of worshippers from across the world, underscoring Selman’s growing influence on the international Christian stage. Anchored on the biblical passage Ezekiel 37:10, the conference featured extended sessions of prayer, Bible teaching and worship. Among the guest ministers was Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, who led congregants in music and devotion.
Selman, founder of Koinonia Global (Eternity Network International), has in recent years taken his revival movement beyond Nigeria, hosting well-attended conferences in major cities across North America. In July 2024, he convened gatherings at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, and at The International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Earlier this year, in March, he also led prayer and prophetic meetings in Dallas and Toronto under the banner Come Up Hither.
Widely regarded among his followers as a teacher of Christian intimacy, spiritual growth and societal renewal, Selman has built a reputation for his ability to combine theological depth with accessible preaching. His ministry has also been associated with charitable initiatives, extending his influence beyond the pulpit.
For many in attendance, the New York conference marked a continuation of a revival movement that has steadily gained traction across continents. With his message of faith and renewal, Selman has become one of the leading Nigerian voices shaping contemporary Pentecostal Christianity at home and abroad.
