President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has extended heartfelt condolences to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, following the passing of his mother, Mrs. Lydia Yilwatda.
In a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described the late Mama Lydia as “a caring and loving mother who sacrificed for her children and the family at large.”
Although she passed away at the age of 83, Akpabio noted that her wisdom and nurturing presence were still greatly needed by her son and the current generation.
He commended her life of service, highlighting that together with her late husband, Rev. Toma Yilwatda, she diligently raised children who are now making meaningful contributions to society.
“Mama Lydia will forever be remembered for her legacies as a pillar of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), particularly the women’s wing, and as the mother of the national chairman of the ruling party,” Akpabio stated.
“Her death is a big loss to the Yilwatda family, the good people of Plateau State, and indeed, the entire nation.”
On behalf of his family, constituents, the 10th Senate, and the National Assembly, Akpabio offered his sympathies and prayed for comfort for the Yilwatda family during this time of grief.
“May Mama’s memories be a source of strength and inspiration,” he added.
