Lagos is preparing to host one of the city’s largest Christian gatherings this year as Pastor Deola Phillips leads A Night of Blessings at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) on Friday, 12 September.
The all-night event, expected to draw thousands of worshippers, will feature prayers, music, and messages of faith. Organisers say the meeting aims to offer participants an opportunity for spiritual renewal, healing, and encouragement at a time many Nigerians face mounting economic and social pressures.
Pastor Phillips, who oversees Christ Embassy Lagos Zone 5 and also directs the Healing School, has, in the run-up to the programme, anchored a daily “50 Days of Blessings” radio broadcast. Airing across several Lagos stations, the short sessions combine prayers and teachings and have already sparked testimonies from listeners.
Her television programme, The Higher Life, continues to run on Loveworld XP, LN247, Wazobia TV, Wazobia Max TV, and NTA2, reaching millions within and outside Nigeria. The broadcasts, coupled with the radio messages, have built momentum towards what many in her ministry are calling a pivotal night of worship.
Among those who have shared testimonies is Lagos resident Precious Jeffrey, who said prayers at a previous event marked a turning point for her struggling business. Stories like hers have added to the anticipation for next month’s gathering.
The Night of Blessings will begin at 6 p.m. and run into the early hours of Saturday. Attendance is free, though advance seat reservations are being taken through the event’s website.
As Lagos braces for the occasion, observers note that such large-scale religious gatherings continue to play an important role in shaping both the spiritual and social lives of millions of Nigerians, with Tafawa Balewa Square once again serving as a focal point for faith-based assembly.
