No right-thinking northerner will vote for Tinubu in 2027, Lamido reiterates
The Federal Government has disclosed that the North-West region of the country is the largest beneficiary of capital projects under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with approvals valued at N5.97 trillion, representing over 40 per cent of total allocations.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who stated this in a statement, yesterday, said insinuations of lopsided development by the administration were unfounded.
“From verifiable data, the actual distribution of projects shows the North-West as the biggest beneficiary, with N5.97 trillion worth of projects, followed by the South-South with N2.41 trillion, North-Central with N1.13 trillion, South-West (excluding Lagos) N604 billion, South East with N407 billion, and North-East with N400 billion,” Idris stated.
He stressed that the Tinubu-led government had remained consistent in ensuring balance, fairness, and inclusivity across all regions.
“In the light of recent insinuations, half-truths and fake information being circulated, we find it expedient to make it abundantly clear that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has been guided, at all times, by the principles of fairness, justice, and equity in the distribution of Federal Government projects, appointments, and opportunities across all six geopolitical zones of our country,” Idris added.
He noted that major infrastructure interventions are ongoing simultaneously across the federation, including rail, roads, bridges, and power projects.
The minister, who stressed that the administration’s fairness is also evident in federal appointments, said: “President Tinubu has consistently appointed capable Nigerians from every part of the country, guided by competence and inclusivity, rather than sectional considerations.”
MEANWHILE, former Governor of Jigawa State and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sule Lamido, yesterday, said that no right-thinking person in the North would vote for Tinubu in the coming 2027 presidential election.
Lamido stated this at a meeting of the PDP expanded caucus held in Dutse, Jigawa State.
He said that for years, the North and Nigerians had been suffering from the bad All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership, including poverty, insecurity, and hardship.
Lamido, however, accused APC administrations of inflicting “hardship, deceit, and betrayal” on Nigerians.
He, however, noted that with the current developments in the PDP, there is a possibility it would return to normal and do everything possible to save the country.
