The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 60-year-old man, Ajayi Femi, for allegedly lacing the drink of a 24-year-old lady and sexually assaulting her.

The incident, which occurred on August 22, 2025, was reported by the victim’s sister at Meiran Police Station and later transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation.

According to the Command, investigations, including medical tests, revealed that the suspect spiked the survivor’s drink, leaving her unconscious before engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with her without consent. The police also disclosed that the suspect made a confessional statement.

The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, assured residents of Lagos of the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice for survivors of sexual offences and maintaining a safe environment.

He urged members of the public to promptly report cases of sexual offences at Family Support Units across divisions and area commands for immediate action and justice.
