APC chieftain calls for youth, female empowerment

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Vice Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area, Dr. Folashade Aarebirin Olabanji-Oba, has urged Nigerians to prioritize youth empowerment, particularly for young women, stressing that building the youth is key to building the nation.

Olabanji-Oba made the call during the Lagos State APC Women Summit, themed “Arise, Aspire and Ascend,” held in Ikeja, Lagos.

She emphasized that empowering young people — especially girls — would ensure that the next generation performs far better than the current one.
“Building the youth is everyone’s responsibility. We must help them understand their importance as the future leaders of this country,” she said.

She added that investing in the girl-child and young adults would guarantee a safer and greater Nigeria in the years ahead.
“This event is about catching them young and inspiring the girl-child to ensure Nigeria becomes one of the greatest nations on earth. We are well-endowed — God has blessed us,” Olabanji-Oba stated.

She commended the APC women’s leadership for their efforts and urged them to continue their good work, saying, “There is a reason we say Lagos leads and other states follow.”

Olabanji-Oba also praised the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that his vision and dedication to the country justified his selection by party members over other aspirants.
