Adiatu Damilola, founder and CEO of Mywurah Solutions Limited, is making significant strides in empowering grassroots communities across Nigeria and Ghana. Her fintech company has already supported thousands of people financially, medically, and socially. Recently, Mywurah empowered 300 businesses by providing POS terminals and cash capital, promoting financial inclusion and improving living standards for grassroots communities.
Born on October 4, 1991, in Lagos State, Damilola is the youngest of six children. Her father, the late Mr. Taiwo Lateef Adiatu, also known as Oyo Mr. Lati, was a renowned marine engineer at the Nigerian Naval Dockyard in Ikoyi, Lagos State. Her mother, Adiatu Wuraola, has served as a politician and a former vice chairman of Ilesa West Local Government in Osun State.
Damilola attended Estolub Nursery and Primary School in Mafoluku, Air Force Secondary School in Ikeja, and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Joseph Ayo Babalola University in 2011. She is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and other professional bodies.
Her career began with immediate employment at African Alliance Insurance Plc, where she excelled as a marketer, closing a 24 million Naira deal within two weeks. During her NYSC at America International Insurance Plc, she was recognised for her outstanding performance and provided with a personal pool car to facilitate her duties.
In 2013, Damilola ventured into modelling, training at the Modelling Academy Nigeria, and later won the Miss Arewa Osun beauty pageant. She also worked closely with the then Governor of Osun, Rauf Aregbesola, and currently serves as Security Secretary and Overall Estate Secretary in her Lagos Island estate.
Through Mywurah Solutions Limited, Damilola has implemented community-focused initiatives such as free medical outreach programs. In December 2024, the company partnered with Swipha and medical practitioners to distribute 1,000 malaria drugs, conduct free malaria tests, and provide blood pressure checks and medications to over 1,000 residents in Alimosho, Lagos.
Damilola has pledged to continue her community service work, emphasising that grassroots communities are the foundation of every nation. “We are ready to roll up our sleeves continually to empower grassroots communities in Nigeria, Ghana, Africa, and the world at large,” she said.
