Comptroller Queen Obazee has formally assumed office as the 28th Customs Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ondo/Ekiti Area Command, pledging to drive discipline, intelligence-led operations and trade-friendly reforms.
Her appointment was announced in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Customs Aondoakura Dzungwenen.
Speaking at the handover ceremony in Akure on Wednesday, Obazee said her leadership would be anchored on four pillars: revenue assurance, security and supply-chain protection, anti-smuggling supremacy and trade facilitation excellence.
“We will institutionalise a zero-leakage culture, enforce discipline and ensure intelligence-led operations,” she declared, stressing the need for transparency and daily performance reviews.
The Comptroller assured industry stakeholders of a more facilitative business environment, promising to reward compliance while deepening outreach to the trading community. “Our operations will be planned for impact, executed professionally and reviewed for corrective action,” she added.
Representing the officers and men of the Command, Assistant Comptroller of Administration Moses Uchegbu pledged renewed loyalty to the Service’s mission. He expressed confidence that Obazee’s leadership would sustain momentum and strengthen operational capacity.
“With your assumption of duty, we are committed to working tirelessly to meet expectations,” he said.
The ceremony concluded with goodwill messages from stakeholders and senior officers, underlining optimism that her tenure would boost revenue generation, enhance border security and facilitate legitimate trade across Ondo and Ekiti states.
