The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the redeployment of 66 senior officers across Nigeria, including a new Corps Secretary, four Assistant Corps Marshals (ACMs), multiple Sector Commanders, and 61 other Corps Commanders, in a bid to reinforce nationwide road safety operations.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Corps Public Education Officer, ACM Olusegun Ogungbemide, said the postings were approved by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the management of road safety across the federation.
At the helm of the redeployment, ACM G. Ntukidem, previously serving as ACM Personnel, has been appointed Corps Secretary at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja. ACM J.W. Toby, formerly of the Policy Research and Statistics Department, has been posted as Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) at RS11HQ Osogbo, while ACM I. Abubakar takes over as ACM Policy at the National Headquarters.
Other key reassignments include ACM A.M. Hassan, who now heads the Technical Service Department after redeployment from Manpower Development, and ACM A. Sanusi, returning from the National Defence College to lead Manpower Development.
The redeployment also impacted sector commands nationwide. CC S.O. Ayodele remains Benue State Sector Commander, while CC J.N. Alexander moves from Anambra to Delta State. CC N.I. Ezeoma retains command in Abia State, CC Y.T. Etuku is posted from Kebbi to Kogi State, CC B. Asekhauno takes over in Anambra, CC R.M.Z. Abubakar moves to Kebbi State, CC D.B. Apaji to Bauchi State, and CC A.P. Longkam assumes duty in Yobe State.
In addition, 61 other Corps Commanders were reassigned across the FRSC National Headquarters, Academy, Zonal Commands, and specialised units, covering key areas including Operations, Policy, Administration, Logistics, Training, Data Management, Research, Establishment, and Medical Services.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed said the redeployments aim to ensure greater efficiency and improved service delivery. “These changes are intended to reinvigorate operations and reinforce road safety management nationwide. I urge the officers to justify the confidence reposed in them and call on motorists to cooperate fully with the new appointees to sustain efforts toward safer highways,” he stated.
The redeployment marks a significant strategic move by the FRSC as it seeks to reduce accidents, enhance traffic management, and coordinate more effectively with security agencies across Nigeria’s highways.
