Tinubu pays glowing tribute to wife at 65

  • says Nigeria owes her more

President Bola Tinubu has paid glowing tribute to his wife, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 65th birthday today, describing her as his “steadying anchor” and a woman whose strength and compassion have touched millions of lives.

In a heartfelt message personally signed by him, the President recalled her unwavering support through the years of political struggle, exile, and leadership responsibilities, noting that her quiet strength and enduring grace have been central to his journey.

“You are more than my wife. You are my confidant, counsellor, and the steady flame illuminating my path,” the President wrote.

“In you, our children and grandchildren see compassion and faith, and in you, our nation sees the true strength of womanhood: resolute yet tender, humble yet unshakably firm.”

Tinubu praised the First Lady for the sacrifices she has made in service to the country, often away from the spotlight, stressing that Nigeria owes her more than many would ever know.

“Today, as your husband, I thank God for your life, health, and unwavering love. As your President, I salute you as the First Lady whose warmth and empathy continue to touch millions across our land. And as your lifelong companion, I say that I love you more than ever, and am blessed every day by your presence,” he added.

Wishing her joy, peace, and fulfilment in the years ahead, President Tinubu said he remains grateful for her love and companionship.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, a three-term senator who represented Lagos Central before becoming Nigeria’s First Lady in May 2023, has championed numerous causes including youth empowerment, women’s development, and education through her Renewed Hope Initiative.
