The President of the Nigerian Cricket Federation (NCF), Dr Uyi Akpata, has been re-elected unopposed as president of the federation for another four-year tenure.
Akpata, who polled all the 47 votes, and other members of the board were given the fresh mandate at the NCF’s yearly general meeting (AGM) and board election held in Abuja.
The presidential election was preceded by zonal elections, which threw up some interesting battles. One of the highlights of the zonal elections was the North Central Zone polls, where Oludare Aimola defeated former NCF President Emeka Onyeama for the third consecutive time.
The election, which was adjudged by stakeholders as free, fair and transparent, also saw the emergence of Wale Obalola unopposed as vice president.
Other members of the new board are Chika Okoro (South East), Tayo Atolye (South West), Ladan Usman (North West), Femi John (South South), Dare Aimola (North Central), and Zainab Ishaku Adamu (North East.
Others are Olumide Akintokun (Technical Rep), Endurance Ofem (Players’ Rep), Prof. Mariam Suleiman (NAWIS), Chuma Anosike (Sponsors’ Rep) and Major Monica Wuballa (Military/Paramilitary).
Speaking after his re-election, Dr Akpata extended his heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the 2025 NCF elections, while pledging to continue the rapid development of sports across all the regions.
