As part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary Celebration, the President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Solomon Adodo, insisted that the country is on the march towards economic liberation under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
Adodo, who launched the Tinubu Cares Initiative on Wednesday in Abuja, described Nigeria’s independence as freedom from colonial rule and the promise of a greater future for all Nigerians, especially the youth.
According to him, President Tinubu has prioritised the youth as drivers of the vision, adding that the onus lies on the youths to stand firmly with him and work for the economic emancipation of Nigeria.
Assuring that the NYCN is determined to ensure that the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President’s vision blossoms beyond just a mantra, he said that the launch of the NYCN Entrepreneurial Development Fund is geared towards the actualisation of the country’s economic growth.
He explained that the fund remains a vehicle that will provide zero-interest funding for aspiring young entrepreneurs to turn their dreams into thriving businesses.
“From markets to garages, from streets to communities, we will carry this hope directly to the people. But we also know that prosperity cannot thrive without security,” he said.
Adodo applauded the National Assembly, led by Senator Godswill Akpabio, for working in synergy with the executive to enact laws that strengthen development across all regions.
Highlights of the celebration included a visit to the Area 1 Market, where NYCN Executives distributed shoemaking and tailoring materials, as well as cash donations, to elated traders based on carefully conducted needs assessments.
