CIOTA announces date for 7th National Transport Conference

The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) has announced that its proposed 7th National Transport Conference will be held from 4th to 6th November 2025.

In a statement obtained by the Guardian on Thursday, the chairman of the Planning Committee, Prof. Samuel Odewunmi, charged stakeholders, professionals, policymakers, and the general public to be part of this year’s engagement as Nigeria attempts to improve its transportation networks across the nation.

The conference, scheduled for Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, is themed ‘ Repositioning Nigeria’s Transport Infrastructure and Governance Models for Global Competitiveness.’ is set to change the course of transportation in the country

According to Prof. Samuel Odewunmi, the theme reflects the urgent need to reform, modernise, and integrate our transport systems to drive economic growth, improve safety, enhance efficiency, and position Nigeria as a strong player in the global logistics and transport space.

He added that the conference will beam its searchlight on infrastructure renewal, multimodal integration, governance reforms, and technological innovations to chart a new course for Nigeria’s transportation system

‘We shall be examining issues of infrastructure renewal, multimodal integration, governance reforms, technological innovations, sustainable financing, and human capacity development,’ he said
